To see what Brooklyn
Center for the Performing Arts does best, see this Saturday night’s
performance by Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, the resident company
of the Grand Teatro de Havana.
At 8 pm on Feb. 1, the 22-women strong Cuban dance company will
bring the "Fuerza y Compas" program, a unique fusion
of flamenco, ballet and Afro-Cuban styles and rhythms, to the
Walt Whitman Theater, one block from the junction of Flatbush
and Nostrand Avenues. This blend of Spanish and Cuban dance traditions
will be performed to live music.
Tickets are $30, and they can be ordered by calling (718)
951-4500. For more information, go to www.brooklyncenter.com.
